Introduction:
Right coronary artery (RCA) supplies:
- Right atrium
- Right ventricle
- SA node
- AV node
- Apex of the heart
- Left bundle of His
- Posterior 1/3rd of IV septum.
Left coronary artery (LCA) supplies:
- Left atrium
- Left ventricle
- Apex of heart
- (Left + Right) bundle of His
- Anterior 2/3rd of IV septum.
Note: Apex of the heart is supplied by both LCA & RCA. But if both are given in options, we have to choose LCA.
Dominance of heart:
- If posterior descending/ interventricular artery is a branch of RCA, it is called ‘Right dominance’
- If posterior descending/ interventricular artery is a branch of LCA, it is called ‘Left dominance’
- If posterior descending/ interventricular artery is a branch of both RCA and LCA, it is called ‘Co-dominance’
- Right dominance is most common (seen in 85% of individuals).
